LRRC News page 1:
New Track Boarding We have now replaced the original track boarding with a more forgiving track marker system. Everyone who has raced the new layout has pretty much agreed that this is a vast improvement, and a more interesting drive. Come down and have a go, you will be pleasantly surprised. We are also going to redo the floor surface again, to get you some more grip.
Possible wood track replacement Hopefully during the quieter part of the year, summertime, we intend to start to replace some of the original wooden track markers with plastic guttering of some sort. This should make it easier to lift when we need to, on the occasions when the centre has an event on. Plus it should make it a little more forgiving on the cars.
Sunday calendar up review Due to clashing with other local clubs we are currently looking at moving our Sunday dates to the alternate weekends. We are in the process of negotiating these with the centre. As soon as we have the revised dates, we'll publish them.
Foam padding applied to track boards We have now added the hose pipe filled with foam pipe lagging to some of the straights and corners. This has proved very popular with the drivers, cushioning any impacts with the boards. Hopefully this will avoid those broken wishbones when you over cook it.
2003 Calendar Updated The calendar for 2003 has now been updated to include the remaining dates for the year, including our Thursday evening events. We hope to be running every Thursday throughout the year, starting at 7pm. Depending on numbers, will determine amount of rounds etc. We will hopefully be catering for all classes, again depending on numbers attending.
